Selborne set to celebrate 125 years of rugby

SELBORNE College celebrates 125 years of rugby this year.

The first match played by the school was against Dale College in August 1892.

To celebrate, the school is hosting a dinner with the theme: “Selborne College Rugby through the Decades”.

The event is open to all Old Selbornians, staff (current and past) and friends of Selborne College.

“We encourage all past players to attend and get your former teammates to attend with you,” Old Selbornians Association executive director Alan Parsons said.

The dinner takes place at 7pm on August 12 at the Neil Emslie Centre, Selborne College.

Tickets are R200 per person or R2000 per table of 10.

MENU: Starter – Platter of mixed hors d’oeuvres.

Main – Medallions of fillet with wholegrain mustard and cheese sauce, baked potatoes with sour cream and roasted vegetables.

Dessert – Malva pudding and custard.

Please advise if you have any special dietary requirements.
