IT IS time for the King Adventure Challenge taking place this weekend, from the Dale College sports grounds.
The newly-launched Pink Fairy Multisport Adventures are bringing an adventure race to King William’s Town and would like to invite all intrepid adventurers to take a walk on the Frontier side.
The “Pink Fairy” Michael Webb has urged Kingites and all adventure racers from the region to “get your mountain bike off the rack and your shoes ready to tackle some awesome single track, kloofing abseiling, MTB and a few other challenges in between.
“This promises to be a lot of fun for all and we are catering for all ages from 10 years old to the open category,” he said.
The race will be held at the Dale College main fields (affectionately known as the Graveyard) on Sunday.
The race includes teams of four in the 10km Pixie challenge (all teams to have one member of the opposite gender), teams of two or four in the 35km Pink Fairy Family Challenge, and teams of two or four in the 50km Ultra Fairy Challenge.
A Fun Family Challenge 10 km race has also been added, for three members minimum and two bikes. Late entries are open for the Fun Family Challenge. Two-member teams may be made up of any combination but all four- person teams must have a member of the opposite gender in it. This race will be an awesome warm-up race for the Lilyfontein Adventure race three weeks later.
Supporters will be allowed access to the route at the Daleview Equestrian Academy (obstacle course area) but please be aware parking is limited. If we have rainy conditions, no vehicle access will be allowed. All participants are to bring an original, signed King Adventure Challenge Race indemnity form to registration.
No GPS watches, cell phone maps, etc allowed. Please contact Mike Webb on 084-597-8254 or e-mail email@example.com
