NEW Kwanda Pefferville invites you to a Fight against Crime Festival on October 7 in Pefferville.
New Kwanda is a registered NPO and a community-based organisation in Pefferville, Ward 1, East London.
The name Kwanda emanates from a community television programme on SABC 2 that started in 2009 when five communities from five provinces competed to showcase how they dealt with social ills affecting them.

chairman Mark Stewart said they needed the funds for a night patrol they have started as a community. “We need [equipment] such as reflector jackets and torchlights,” Stewart said.
The organisation has various enterprises under their wing including sewing, welding, carpentry, social tasks, beauty, landscaping, salon, catering, community safety and sports.
“Some of our patrol people are unemployed and after patrolling we buy food for them and if we raise enough funds from this festival, we are going to give at least one of them R50 or R100 to take home to their families.
“We rely on each and everyone’s support for it to be a success.”
