THE last points Border Stock Car Association’s dirt oval race of the season was a huge success with a good field taking part in the action at the weekend.
“We will still host an Old Year’s race on December 30,” the association’s secretary Rose Collins said.
She said they had a new woman driver in the Junior Hot Rod Class, namely Nicollet Clark.
“We had an awesome field of entries and the event ran fairly smoothly,” Collins said.
In the 2.1 Modified Class, Zaine Knickelbein took the honours ahead of Jouwert van der Walt, Jason Brink and Pieta de Lange.
Shawn Collins won the Super Hot Rods with William Hunter in second place and Jacques Brink and Charles Fuller in third and fourth place respectively.
In another action-packed 1660 Class, Jason Brink ran away with the honours, with Jason Prinsloo in second, Ryan Dalton third and Ashley Niemand fourth.
It was a women’s one, two, three in the Junior Hot Rods section, with Carla Naude coming in ahead of Melindre Marais and Melandri Myburgh, with Damon du Preez in fourth place.
Shawn Victor took the chequered flag in the V8 Flexi/AMS Class, with Clinton Green in second, ahead of Donovan Voogt and Craig Diedericks.
