Energetic production full of variety and talent
AS REQUESTED by East London audiences and after a successful run last month, The Dramatic Society of East London (Dramsoc) is bringing one final run of Spectacular Spectacular to the Alexander Playhouse next weekend (January 19 and 20).
The show is held to raise funds to upgrade the theatre, which is in dire need of refurbishment.
Spectacular Spectacular is an energetic production, showcasing a variety of talent. Audiences can look forward to performers such as international champion dancers Ashley Behrens and Chace Collett as well as the mind-blowing saxophone playing of Mark Lynch and many others.
“This forms part of a series of exciting fundraising events to upgrade our beloved little theatre,” said Dramsoc committee member Jo Stemmet.
During the course of the year, East London audiences can look forward to a range of entertaining and exciting fundraising events including a guitar evening and a karaoke competition.
Dramsoc’s annual Valentine’s Show will also be taking place next month and promises to be as joyful and love-filled as ever.
“The plan is to upgrade and renovate the Alexander Playhouse one bit at a time, with the help of the East London community,” said Stemmet.
Tickets for Spectacular Spectacular are available at Lee Gold Music at R80 per person and audiences are invited to bring picnic baskets along to enjoy and support the spectacular talents.
Tickets will also be on sale at the door.
