23rd Annual Tomato Trot a success

THE 23rd annual Tomato Trot and Cycle took place last weekend and saw over 2100 athletes take part across all distances and disciplines.

The overcast weather allowed for the perfect conditions for the event, encouraging a total of 919 timed athletes to attempt the challenging 15 km run, with Hanlie Botha and Bulelani Mgubo bagging first place in the female and male open, respectively.

The gruelling 55 km cycle saw Sally Hayman and Jason Reed achieve first place in the female and male divisions, respectively.

Proudly sponsored by Buco, the day was a huge success with the Conlon entertainment area, the SPAR food tent and the SAB beer tent ensuring there was something to keep the whole family busy.
