Cricket victory for Old Selbornians

THE Cricket Premier league continued over the weekend with Old Selbornians Cricket Club facing Buffalo Cricket Club at the Old Boys Club in a two-day match in Baysville.

On Saturday during the Premier Reserve league, the Old Boys bowled the Buffs all out for 130 runs.

Ryan Makowem managed three wickets in three overs, Bryan Voke took two in 12 overs and Dale Middleton took two in one over.

Old Selbornians Cricket Club secretary, Travis Venter, said the team managed to chase down the score in 32 overs. Bryan Voke made 45 and Tarquin Benito 48 runs.

On Sunday during the Premier League, more cricket was on the cards when the Buffalo Cricket Club played against the Old Selbornians Cricket Club in Baysville. The Buffs elected to bat first, but was bowled out for 171 runs.

Phil Badenhorst made a hatrick by taking five wicket for 36 runs. Old Boys chased down the score in 26 overs. Joss Neil Long made 48 and Brad Williams 68 runs. The Old Boys won the match by eight wickets.
