After opening his first business in King William’s Town 22 years ago, local Optometrist, Goolam Peer,46, says that he has come a long way and is happy to introduce his latest optometric practice which is located in the Spargs Super Spar Shopping complex in Beacon Bay.
Since 1995, Peer Optometrist has steadily grown to four outlets between East London and King William’s Town and it employs a total of 14 full time staff members.
“I just love coming to work everyday, I enjoy all sides of the business especially interacting with our patients, many of whom are regular customers that I have been serving for years,” said Peer.
The father of four, who is dedicated to his family and community said his services were of the highest quality and new customers can be assured that they will get quality services at an affordable price.
“We try our best to provide quality at an affordable price for our patients, that is why we have been around for so long. We pay extra attention to our customers needs,” he added.
He said at first it was a challenge to gain access to funding for his business but he never gave up, he kept knocking on doors until his big break came along in the mid 90’s and managed to open his first practice.
Goolam who lives in Beacon Bay said that his 18 year-old daughter has followed in his footsteps and is currently studying Optometry at the University of KwaZulu Natal, which is where he also studied.
Members of the public are welcome to visit the Peer Optometrist practices in Beacon Bay and on Oxford Street in East London.
Great news. May God bless you on your new venture.
