Pupil to take on SA anglers of the deep

 EAST London fisherman fisherman Nicholas Clarke will be holding high the hopes of the city as he compete in the upcoming South Africa Deep Sea Angling Association (SADSAA) Suzuki Bottomfish nationals in the city.

that will be heldThe event will be held  at the East London Skiboat Club in the harbour area on the Buffalo River from April 26 to May 2.

Nicholas, who is a Grade 11 pupil at Port Rex High School will be competing in the Under 19 side. He has been fishing for Border since 2014 and has served as the captain of both the U16 and U19 sides.

Border Deepsea Angling Association tournament conveyor Tyrone Gower said 15 senior teams and one U19 team would compete, with                                    a total of 80 anglers and skippers taking part.

Nicholas’s teammmates are Cameron Gemmel and Seth Van Den Berg, both from KwaZulu-Natal.

The public are welcome to watch the weigh in from 3.30pm each day and to enjoy a meal and drinks at the club.
