Treasurer Kate Godfrey said Buffalo Rowing Club was very proud of  their athletes and Mbongisa’s success.

“Buffalo Rowing Club is particularly proud of Lukho Mbongisa and the time and effort he has put in. His success reinforces the rowers’ ethos of Intsebenziswano ( we are better together than apart). Let’s hope this tour brings Lukho great success and  inspires him to carry on doing great things,” she said.

Godfrey added they were the second-largest club at the national champs.

“This was not just due to the fact that Buffalo Rowing Club got great results at national champs but also because we have had steady growth in size and performance,” she said. Jean Ellingson was selected as head coach.
