A number of toddlers from Rosedale Play and Learn Educare in Amalinda enjoyed a fun-filled Mandela Day with McDonald’s Amalinda on Mandela Day.
School principal Priscilla Pitsholo was overjoyed by the contribution made by the company as they celebrated the day.
“We’re so happy that McDonald’s identified us and this will form part of the history of the school,” Pitsholo said.
The school opened its doors in January 2016, and takes care of 42 children – ranging from three months, to six years old. Amalinda McDonald’s director, Collin Williams, said their brand was a natural fit for kids.
“Our staff identified this project and we provided support in terms of resources.
“This was their chance to give back to the community in the spirit of Madiba’s love for kids,” Williams said.
Among the school’s ambitions for growth, is to have a computer centre that will help the children improve language skills.
“I would have it in my heart that donors will assist with our needs like donating even second-hand computers, a temporary structure to house it in, and more swing sets,” Pitsholo said.
