She Summit to empower

For the first time, the She Summit will be coming to East London on Saturday at the City Hall, hosted  by BlackReign correct Communications.

Event organiser Leon-Lee Madolo said the aim of the event was is to motivate and inspire women to live their lives to their full potential.

“This is done through women sharing their past experiences with the intention of teaching others about their mistakes and how they have learned from them.

“But it’s ultimately done to create a platform for building a community of strong supportive women, a networking community with the hope of bettering women’s lives,” said Madolo said.

The summit will focus on talk to about women empowerment, safety women safety, and economic growth.

The speakers will include Eastern Cape women from various backgrounds such as government, the private sector, entrepreneurs and the local community.

“It will be full of fun and content-driven engagements, with MTN on board allowing us to launch in such a magnitude. We are also partnering with Edge Lodge, Keith Ngesi Online Radio Station and Beauty Academy International,” she said.

“We have also adopted two young women organisations and have sponsored 100 girls from these organisations to come and attend the event.

“While some women are living their dreams and are career-driven, many are in serious debt, abusive relationships and work in unbearable conditions. With the increase of brutal killings of women, there is a level of feeling scared and unprotected,” Madolo said.

The entry fee is R500.
