East London SPCA will host a fundraising event, the EL SPCA Ladies Spring Breakfast, at The Venue in Hemingways Mall tomorrow.

SPCA fundraiser, Margaret Pautz said they were will be hosting this event to raise funds for their monthly medical bill which is in arrears.

“We approximately spend in the region of R40,000 to R60,000 on medication for the treatment of the various animals that are in our sanctuary or those that are treated in our clinic,” said Pautz.

She said  they also did a lot of sterilisations which were done at a low cost, as they were a non-profit facility.

“Our guest speaker is photographer, speaker and author Marlene Neumann who has been previously involved with the SPCA through the Buckaroo Project. Neumann has insight into the workings of the SPCA, and I am quite certain that she will be putting the facts concerning the SPCA out there to all the women in the best possible way,” indicated Pautz.

She said they are concentrating on making the breakfast an informative and entertaining morning.

“Bass player and vocal artist and voice artist Kerry Hiles will be the master of ceremonies. She will keep the morning flowing, along with a guest appearance by the The Pink Fairy (Mike Webb) from King William’s Town. We also have some lovely spot prizes for the lucky guests, as well as a few select stalls where the women can browse for some jewellery,” concluded Pautz.

Tickets will go for R150 per person. To book, contact Pautz at 043-745-1441.
