Urgent appeal for community assistance

The East London police have issued an urgent appeal for public assistance after a 34-year-old man with Down Syndrome, who was a passenger in a car that was stolen in Cambridge earlier today.

Police spokesman Captain Mali Govender said the owner of the blue Mazda FFM218EC, a police officer Warrant Officer Floyd Meyers, had parked the car in front of a tyre fitment centre at 4pm. He had left his 34-year-old son, Ryan, in the vehicle.

An unknown man had got into the car and had driven off.

A search by the police is underway and anyone with information of where Ryan may be or with any information on the whereabouts of the vehicle can contact the Crime Stop number on 0860010111.
