Fun event raises funds

About R21,000 was raised at the for the construction of a children’s safe house for Christelike- Maatskaplike Raad’(CMR) in theis  fundraising event for the construction of a children’s safe house.

held at the Legends Showcase recently.

CMR East London serves local families by providing child protection, prevention and early intervention and prevention services.

They also run a safe house for abused women and their children.

Event organiser Trevor Willard said the fundraising day, held at the Legends Showcase recently,  was filled with entertainment, prizes, auction items and food. for the evening.

He added that a generous monetary donation from Link FM helped make the event a memorable one.

Entertainment for the fundraising event was provided by blues band Humble Man, along with upcoming artist Kayla Jane. in support of the cause to protect the marginalised in our community.  “I did not  know  we had such wonderful talent in town, it was a special eveningwith the band,” said volunteer Celia Theart said.

The money raised funds donated will go towards building the construction of a home for abused children.
