Selborne U/15A cricket excels in Bloemfontein

The Selborne U/15A cricket team saw much success in Bloemfontein last weekend, winning three out of four games and only losing one.

Their first match on Saturday was against Grey College who Selborne managed to bowl out in 30.2 overs, with Grey achieving a total of 126 runs.
Michael McGill claimed five wickets in eight overs and Selborne in their turn at the crease, scored 130 runs while only losing two wickets, winning the match by eight wickets.

On Sunday, Selborne went up against Maritzburg College on Monday losing by seven wickets. After winning the toss and deciding to bat, Selborne scored 136 all out. Top scorers were Heath Rohm (42 runs), Matthew Coetzer (28 runs), and Jared Red (21). To their credit, Selborne made Maritzburg work hard for their victory with their opponents clawing their way to 137 runs with three wickets lost.

Monday saw Selborne face off against Kearsney College with Selborne winning the toss and choosing to bat. Selborne scored an impressive 215 runs in 49.2 overs but were bowled all out in the end. Adam du Plessis top-scored with 66 runs. Kearsney came close to matching Selborne with 213 runs and were bowled out in the final over.

The final match on Tuesday was against Woodridge College. Selborne was on the field for the first half and made short work of Woodridge, bowling them out in less than 20 overs for only 80 runs. They then took up the bat and proceeded to give their opponents a thrashing, scoring 84 runs in just 11 overs while only losing one wicket.
