The Eastern Cape premier and the provincial government have offered their condolences following the death of EC Education MEC Mandla Makupula.
According to premier Phumulo Masualle’s spokesman Sizwe Kupelo, Makupula died at an East London hospital in the early hours of Monday October 08 after a long illness.
“On behalf of the executive council and the entire provincial government, the Premier expresses his heartfelt condolences to friends, colleagues and the family of the late MEC.
“He served the people of the Eastern Cape with integrity and ethical leadership,” he said.
More details about the funeral will be announced at a later date.
