Kwaito star Thulani juggles a day job too

Mdantsane musician Thulani Nqambi, 36, is a kwaito muscian who is passionate about his work.
Nqambi fell in love with kwaito in 1995, back when the genre was still fresh and new.

“I was a young boy when the the genre came out. I fell in love with it because I could relate to the lyrics as I am from a township and some of the lyrics in kwaito music are about township lifestyle.

“I am currently working at the Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) but in my spare time I perform at events.”

He said his lyrics centred around the good lifestyles that one could find in East London and Mdanstane.

“My lyrcs are just to show off to the rest of the world that East London is not a boring place. People can have some fun here.

“I have released songs like Asitanga Nqa, which was received very well. I am also a vocalist on the hit song Tulz Down with DJ Tuls,” he said.
