The East London community are psyching themselves up for the 22nd annual Bikers’ Toy Run which will take place on Sunday at Hamilton Sports Club.
The toy run promises to be fun for children who are the beneficiaries and they are looking forward to a day of entertainment.
Toy run president Chantelle Walker said the children were from homes and places of safety in the city.
“About 250 excited underprivileged children will hear the sirens and horn blowing of the fire truck and the roaring thunder of the bikes at Hams Club,” Walker said.
She said each child would receive a wrapped gift with their name on it, and have an opportunity to meet with Santa.
“We also have a stick-on tattoo studio and games where they stand a chance to win prizes,” she said.
The community can still contribute on Sunday with stationery, toiletries, toys and sanitary towels and a decorated vehicle will be on standby at the Settlers Monument.
Any individuals or companies willing to sponsor or donate this year or get involved next year can contact Chantelle on 084-645-0530.
The event starts at 8.30am from the Settlers Monument at the beachfront in Quigney and will be led by a bike convoy to Hams Club.
