Men of Integrity International (MIA) will be hosting a day of prayer for men in Mdantsane on December 2 to advocate for the rights of men and to take a stand against abuse.
MIA chair and co-founder Sabelo Peter said the day is an initiative that seeks to supplement the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
“The day follows the International Men’s Day event that the association hosted in partnership with local men’s organisations,” said Peter.
MIA is a non-profit, faith-based organisation which was established in January 2013 in the Eastern Cape.
“The vision and mission of the association is to revive the dignity of manhood through teaching and mentoring men so that they can appreciate their positions, purpose, functioning and divine ordination as God’s image and glory.”
Peter said the men’s day of prayer will be targeting men from all walks of life to gather and pray for men in the community.
“The day will also be a platform to spiritually uplift and empower the men in order for him them to be responsible male role models, respect manhood, respect the dignity of females and subsequently, restore public trust as in men,” said Peter.
