BREATH of Life Place of Safety is in need of Christmas donations. as the festive season begins. The organisation will have to pay their care-givers as well as their rent and BCM account.
“Individuals and businesses who donate cash can request a tax-exempt certificate,” house mother Michelle Rielly said.
“We also regularly need Infacare 1 and Infacare 2 formula, nappies from size 1-6, unscented aqueous cream, baby body wash, Johnson & Johnson soft and shiny shampoo, gripe water and Bepanthen ointment.”
She said they did not close over the festive season. as there was always a need for places of safety.
“Even though most of our regular baby care-givers are on leave, God has blessed us with four ladies that have stepped in to help care for our babies. This also means we need extra monetary donations to pay them.” she said.
Rielly says they currently had seven babies in their care. and will be celebrating their very first Christmas with them.
“With limited resources, we rely heavily on service providers and individuals to help us take care of East London’s abandoned and vulnerable babies. We would like to thank each and every person that has donated their time through volunteering in our nursery and in our coffee shop during 2018.
“We would also like to thank those that have donated funds, products, their expertise and time. Your generosity keeps Breath of Life functioning and allows us to give the best care to each and every baby that we take care of.” said Rielly.
The organisation will start 2019 with their first fundraising event on February 2.
“This fundraiser is open to everyone, individuals or businesses, who would like to support the NPO and the work that we do within our East London community,” Rielly said.
Tickets are R200 for individuals or R2,000 per table of 10. For bookings contact Rielly on 076 426 5749.
