Duncan Village music enthusiasts received some music equipment from MEC of the department of sport recreation, arts and culture (Dsrac) Bulelwa Tunyiswa handed over music equipment to Duncan Village music enthusiasts on Tuesday.

“I am here to fulfil a commitment to the musicians. It is always my fervent prayer that, as a public representative, I dare not fail our people, especially the poor and vulnerable groups like the youth,” Tunyiswa said.

She said if government officials did not keep their promises to people, especially to the youth, it would mean they were building a nation filled with liars.

“This is why we should lead by example, as they are the future of this country.

“Poverty and unemployment are the main problems that youth are struggling with. That is why we call on the private sector and businesses to work with us,” she said

“We must teach the young people not to forget their peers and their communities when they succeed in life.

“Avoid a tendency of moving away from your communities that supported you when things are good.”
