Wand-wagging dog show

Show convenor Mike Webb, also known as the Pink Fairy, said the highlight of the day will be a parade of rescue dogs led by a SPCA vehicle .

Pink Fairy Multisport will be hosting their first dog show at the Dale College track fields in King William’s Town this Saturday.

The aim of the show is to assist the local SPCA as they are in dire need of funding.

Show convenor Mike Webb, also known as the Pink Fairy, said the highlight of the day will be a parade of rescue dogs led by a SPCA vehicle .

“We are trying to highlight the good work that the SPCA does in the community and show that dogs that are rehabilitated, make the best pets”, he said.

There will also be music, guest speakers and a police dog show.

“We also have awesome rozettes for all placings. An impartial judge from East London has been arranged in order to ensure no favouritism. All dogs need to be on a leash at all times, well behaved, preferably inoculated and dewormed,” said Webb.

Registration will be at 12pm on the Saturday with the show itself starting at 2pm.

Entry fee is R100 and late entries cost R150.  Entry forms are available at Buffalo Toyota KWT, King SPCA or call 084-597-8254 or 076-092-3288

The event is sponsored by Madalas Savemor and the prizes are sponsored by Bravecto.

Webb said after the dog show, they will be hosting a Sunset Amble .

“This will consist of a 500m lap. Participants will pay R5 per lap and receive a glow stick upon completion.”

After completing 10 laps (5kms), participants will receive a special Pink Fairy Medal.
