Peddie-born Izwilethemba FM radio presenter Themeblani “Pastor T” Nunge bagged the award for Best Gospel Radio Presenter at the recent Gabriel Global Gospel Awards (GGGA).
“My passion for radio became serious three years ago when I moved back to Peddie, where I worked at one of the community radio stations as presenter and programmes manager.
“I felt the need for growing myself more in the radio industry and joined one of the Christian community radio stations in East London, Izwile- themba FM, where I surprised many.
“I used my experience and passion for the radio industry to the point that early this year I got a promotion to programmes manager,” said Nunge.
The GGGAs were created to build awareness and generate pride in the diversity inherent in to the gospel musical, ministerial and ecclesiastical communities.
“To be nominated and winning the award is an honour. I take this as a reaping season after working so hard to make my dreams come true despite the difficulties of working on community radio stations, receiving under stipends or sometimes nothing. not getting anything on the hand.
“I am so excited and thank everyone who supported by voting for me to win this award. This is also my birthday present as June is my birthday month,” said Nunge.
