There was much excitement to be had as Hudson Park High School hosted the Twizza Sevens U15 and U17 Rugby and Netball Tournament over the weekend.

Schools from across the Eastern Cape turned up to play against each other.

The U15 rugby saw eight teams go head-to-head with the semi-finals and finals being divided into a plate and a cup final.

Port Rex Technical High School managed to make it to the plate final after their semi-final opponents, the Hurricanes B team, were disqualified.

They faced Cambridge High School who arrived fresh from a 33-5 victory against Beaconhurst High School.

Both teams tried their best but in the end, Port Rex emerged victorious with a score of 31-5.

Meanwhile, in the plate final, Grens High School and Hudson Park High School A went up against each other with Hudson beating Grens 26-5.

The U17 rugby was organised in the same fashion, with eight teams and two finals.

The plate final saw Stirling High School and Hudson Park High School B fighting for the trophy.

It was a close competition, but ultimately Stirling pulled ahead with a 17-12 victory.

Hudson Park A and Grens competed in the cup final and Grens streaked ahead for a 36-7 win.

Over at the netball, things were organised slightly differently. There were only five teams in the U15 and U17 categories with and there was no official final taking place.

Instead, teams took part in a round-robin competition with the winner being the school that won the most matches.

In both age groups, the Hudson Park teams winner was Hudson Park with both teams emerging undefeated.
