In a bid to fundraise and strengthen bonds between the community, the Club Leaders Association (CLA) bikers’ rally will take place in Kei Road Country Club outside Bhisho from October 4 to 6.
The event is open to both bikers and non-bikers.
The rally involves all motorcycle clubs in the East London area and will raise funds for the East London Bikers Benevolent Fund, which was established in 2018 in memory of Rod Botha and Shane Luck.
The aim of the Benevolent Fund is to provide financial assistance and support to club members in the event of their death, serious injury or illness.
Entertainment will include Port Elizabeth rock band Straytalk, games, a Miss CLA 2019 pageant as well as food stalls.
Club president Donald Knott said such an event was welcome in the area.
“We are looking forward to it as we have had a decline in numbers and support, and also with all sports in general,” Knott said.
The fund is open to any EL motorcycle club that is registered with CLA, and club representatives must attend meetings as organised.
Entrance is R150 and includes shaded and non-shaded campsites.
Gates open from 10am on Friday, including an outback ride to Gubu Dam on Saturday.
