PE team coach amits mistakes cost them dearly

Hundreds of rugby fans crowded into the Mdantsane Unit 1 Stadium on Saturday during the Eastern Cape Super 14 tournament to see hosts Swallows Rugby defeat Port Elizabeth’s African Bombers 25-21. Swallows coach Ntando Kebe said despite their win, his team did not give their all throughout the match, especially in the second half.

“The ball possession wasn’t ours, we made silly mistakes such as tackling and keeping the
possession, but those thing are going to be fixed in the next two weeks.” Swallows captain Sokhana Mkona shared similar sentiments.

“I think the boys were tired, and they just let go of the game. The Bombers stretched us too much in the back-line, they play a quick game and we struggled a bit with it,” he said.
Mkona complimented Bombers for giving them a good game and for bringing their best
players.

Bombers coach Zola Coto said they had taken the defeat and accepted it.

“We had all the opportunities and chances to win the game, but our mistakes cost us. We will go back to the drawing board and overcome the errors we made,” he said. Bombers will play against Old Selbornians .
