EL-born musician Mvikeli Masuku, better known by his stagename Blaqverse, is gearing up to release a new single with SA hip-hop heavyweight DJ Ready D.
The single, titled Hope, will drop on all major digital platforms on August 28 to coincide with the end of Women’s Month.
“The single is socially conscious as it highlights a few serious social ills in the world.
“It also highlights gender-based violence (GBV) and that is the direction of the artwork,” Masuku said.
Masuku said collaborating on the single with DJ Ready D was an honour.
“To have Ready D on a song is a huge deal because it affirms that I am on the right path when veterans like him give his stamp of approval,” he said.
“Having the DJ on the song pushes the envelope to carry a deeper message.”
