The Keep a Girl in School Sanitary Drive took place at Spargs Mall in Beacon Bay, with the aim of providing sanitary towels to students to help them avoid missing school.

“We collected an overwhelming amount of sanitary towels,” said Keep a Girl in School founder Dinika Rooy.

“The support was amazing and we are grateful to those who supported our drive.

“This will be an on-going initiative we will continue to do throughout the year.”

The handing-over of the sanitary towels was done on Thursday May 27.

Meyers Motors, together with Rooy, were able to provide sanitary towels together with workbooks and toys to four local schools around East London, namely, Duncan Village Primary School, Aspiranza Primary School, Nompulelo Primary School and New Generation Primary School.

Those looking to continue supporting the initiative can drop off their donations of sanitary towels and feminine hygiene products at any Meyers Motors branch in East London throughout this month.
