Eskom announced on Wednesday morning that it would be moving to Stage 2 loadshedding until 5am Saturday.
The power utility said this was due to insufficient generation capacity as well as the loss of units at Medupi, Duvha and Kendal power stations.
“Of the five units that failed yesterday [Tuesday], a unit at Majuba, Kriel and Matimba power stations have returned to service while the remaining two units are undergoing boiler tube leak repairs,” Eskom said in a statement.
Regretfully, Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 14:00 today until 05:00 on Saturday@News24 @Newzroom405 @SABCNews @eNCA @SundayTimesZA @SowetanLIVE pic.twitter.com/3ZDo63nyfZ
