Local comedian brings one-man show to EL

NDUMISO LINDI

Local comedian Ndumiso Lindi is finally bringing his one-man show Boys Don’t Cry to the Guild Theatre on Saturday, February 25.

He is excited to entertain East London audiences with his hilarious stories about his family, life experiences, and his culture.

“My brand of comedy is observational. It is storytelling and relatable to everyone.

“I can take the audience on a rollercoaster with stories about my personal life,” he said.

His initial plan to stage his show in East London had to be put on hold earlier due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I haven’t performed in East London in a while but I am very excited to be back.

“I love East London audiences because they interact with me and engage with the jokes I make on stage. They respond with comments that tell me they agree with what I say or find it relatable and funny.

“They are a listening audience and that makes the show more fun,” the comedian said.

The Qonce-born comedian has also made a name for himself as an MC and a presenter.

He has performed across Africa in Botswana, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, and Kenya.

He has performed in international shows in the US and UK.

The funnyman said everyone who attended the show should have a good time and laugh.

The show has no age restriction, but Lindi said it was more suited to adults who wouldn’t get bored sitting through a performance.

“Just come, don’t ask ‘who is this guy, what is he about?’

“Just come to the show, you will have fun, and you will not be disappointed,” Lindi said.

Tickets are available at Computicket or any Shoprite or Checkers outlet.

Early bird bookings are R160 and R180 on the day of the show.
