East London businesswoman Sia Mausi has been recognised as one of MTN’s Top 10 Women in Digital Business, a well-deserved award that represents the hard work she has done through her digital marketing and content creation company Media Maus.
Mausi received her award in Johannesburg, along with R100 000 to assist with business development, and securing mentorship and coaching from industry professionals.
Mausi says this award means a lot as it highlights all the hard work that has gone into making Media Maus a success.
“Being recognised as one of MTN’s Top Ten Women in Digital Business is absolutely surreal. It’s been a real rollercoaster of a journey building Media Maus over the past four years. There have been countless ups and downs, late nights, and moments of self-doubt.
“It’s easy to get lost in the day-to-day grind and question if your efforts are making a difference. But then something like this happens and it’s a huge reminder that all the hard work and sacrifices are worth it. This award is more than just a recognition; to me it’s a validation of my abilities, my vision, and the impact Media Maus has made. It speaks to the incredible team I’ve built and the support I’ve received along the way,” said Mausi.
At the young age of 28, Mausi built a successful digital brand and executed unique projects such as the first hybrid exhibition and walkabout at the National Arts Festival and a 3D art exhibition. She is also involved in initiatives aimed at empowering young girls and providing them with safe spaces to explore their talents.
The recognisition comes after a rigorous application process that requires the submission of company documents, information on the company, and some past projects, as well as interviews and a final pitch to a panel of industry experts.
“I believe our strong track record in these areas, coupled with our positive impact on the local digital landscape, were instrumental in our selection.
“It serves as a powerful endorsement, opening doors to new opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations within the South African and international digital business communities. It positions Media Maus as a trusted and respected player in the industry, attracting top talent and clients alike,” said Mausi.
Mausi plans on using the prize money to reinvest in the company, upgrade the technological infrastructure, expand the team, and allocate resources for research and development.
