Comedian Kevin Fraser has made a name for himself internationally and is bringing his comedy tour, #Imagination2025 back to SA, including a show at the Guild Theatre on Friday December 6.
Fraser has created a brand of authentically SA comedy, complete with relatable local content, hilarious mannerisms and jokes spoken in fluent English, Afrikaans and Zulu.
“My imagination has been running wild this year! After taking the soulful feeling of Africa around the world, my creative sparks have ignited something new. These sparks have laid the foundation for fresh comedy, delivering everything you’ve come to love, but with a bright, renewed twist.
“Life is meant to be laughed at, so join me as I poke fun at daily struggles, life’s quirks, and a future that seems as uncertain as ever, all wrapped in a fresh burst of hilarious satire,” Fraser said.
Fraser has built a large following on the social media app, Tik Tok, with his comical skits of ridiculous characters who ‘work the tills’ at SA supermarkets, and his funny observations of everyday SA life.
The comedian says his best comedy comes from his own thoughts and observations.
“My country basically prints it for me… I think it helps to keep an eye on what is happening but usually I am inspired by what I observe and think in my head.
“Creativity is a strange thing. Sometimes I may be at it with a pen and paper at 3am. But one good place for me is when I’m flying and I can’t speak to anyone but myself,” said Fraser.
Originally from Durban, Fraser moved to Johannesburg to further his career in comedy.
After establishing his own company Cream Kulture, he relocated to Australia, where he has continued his comedy journey, reaching international audiences.
“Mzansi, prepare for lift off! Your imagination is about to go on a hilarious journey,” he said.
Tickets range from R300 to R400, depending on seats.
