Hudson Park High School athletes delivered a strong performance at the athletics meeting against Cambridge High School last weekend, showcasing their talents in various events.
In the boys’ U17 division, Sange Gwarube took fifth place in the long jump, while Miso Mkalipi secured fifth in the 1,500m, and Liam Moffit finished fourth in the javelin throw.
Lithemba Mpini claimed sixth place in the boys’ U15 shot put, with Mesuli Ntame finishing sixth in discus and impressively taking second in the javelin throw.
The younger athletes also shone, with Kuhle Giqwa finishing third in the boys’ U14 shot put and fourth in discus, while Kungawo Mvalo placed sixth in the high jump.
In the girls’ U17 division, Keera van Vuuren took first place in the 100m sprint and ninth in discus.
Jessica Farr came second in the girls’ U15 1,500m, and Ruth Saxton earned second in the 400m and first in the 800m. Havilah Deyi dominated the girls’ U14 sprints, taking first in the 100m and 200m.
