Golden jubilee for Pefferville Primary

Pefferville Primary School celebrated its 50th anniversary in October — a huge milestone for the school which serves children from under resourced communities.

The school has survived riots, vandalism and other adversities through the years, showcasing the strength and resilience that the pupils and staff have had.

Under the leadership of various principals including current headmaster George Plaatjie, the school has grown to 1,369 pupils and has developed strong relationships of support from government and private organisations.

To mark its anniversary, the school celebrated the opening of its first media centre, which aims to provide pupils with important digital skills to breach the widening gap of inequality and to help pupils who often do not have basic computer literacy.
