Hudson Park High School’s swimmers had an impressive showing at the inaugural Buffalo City Aquatics High School Sprint and Relay Gala held on October 25, bringing home numerous podium finishes across individual and relay events.
In the girls’ division, standout performances came from Ruth Saxton, who claimed three first-place finishes in the U15 50m freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly events and took second in the 100m freestyle. Grace Petzer also excelled, placing first in the U16 50m breaststroke, while Kate-Lynn Richter earned a third in the U14 50m freestyle and second in the breaststroke.
On the boys’ side, Sinothando Zungu stole the spotlight with wins in the U16 50m freestyle, backstroke, and 100m freestyle, along with several second-place finishes. Liam Chetty was also a top contender, securing first in both the U14 50m and 100m breaststroke.
The relay teams showed resilience, with the U15 boys and U16 girls securing second place in the 200m medley relays, while the U15 boys also placed second in the 200m freestyle relay, and the u16 girls took third.
Hudson Park’s swimmers showcased determination and skill, making their school proud in this intense competition.
