Popular SA singer-songwriter Arno Carstens is set to take the stage at Bay Collective on Sunday March 30. The show forms part of Carstens’ provincial Pendulum Tour, which will see him performing in East London, Gqeberha, St Francis Bay, George and Mossel Bay.

The tour’s setlist will feature songs from his latest five-track EP, Sewe Sakke Hoop, which has been well-received by his loyal fans. The EP includes popular tracks such as Hoe Gaan Dit and Nagblind and showcases Carstens’ signature blend of poetic lyrics and rock influences.

“Life swings between highs and lows, light and dark, struggle and celebration, and my latest album captures it all. Now, it’s time to take these songs on the road and experience them together. Let’s enjoy the pendulum of life,” Carstens said.

A seasoned performer with a career spanning over three decades, Carstens is one of SA’s most celebrated rock artists. He first gained fame as the lead vocalist of the rock band Springbok Nude Girls. During the band’s hiatus, he ventured into a solo career, producing multiple chart-topping albums and earning several accolades, including best rock album, best alternative album, and song of the year at the SA Music Awards.

As a solo artist, Carstens received worldwide recognition through his performances on international stages, sharing the spotlight with global icons such as U2 and The Rolling Stones.

His songs are in both English and Afrikaans, allowing him to tap into multiple audiences.

“From working tirelessly to finally stepping back, I found myself observing these contrasts, and before I knew it, they had woven themselves into the heart of the album. Now, as I take this music on tour, I want to celebrate the full spectrum of human emotion — the highs, the lows, and everything in between,” he said.

Carstens is no stranger to East London and has performed in the city numerous times. This upcoming show will mark the first Sunday session of 2025 at Bay Collective.

The performance is set for Sunday at 3pm. Tickets are available on the Bay Collective website (baycollective.co.za) for R200 per ticket, while children under 10 can attend for free.
