Mona Small celebrated an incredible milestone as she turned 100 years old on May 17.
Born in 1926, she lived through a century filled with love, family, faith, and cherished memories.
Small was the third oldest of 13 children, growing up in a large and lively family where strong values and close bonds were formed.
In 2004, she moved to East London (now KuGompo) and settled at Stirling Lodge, where she has continued to touch the lives of many with her gentle spirit and warm heart.
Family has always been at the centre of her life. She is the proud mother of five children, four sons and one daughter, and her family has grown to include seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom bring her immense joy and pride.
Small has always embraced life with creativity and passion.
She loves gardening, and has enjoyed expressing her artistic side through fabric painting. Her love for music and faith has also been a special part of her life, especially through singing in the church choir.
As she celebrated her 100th birthday, her family and friends honoured not only her remarkable longevity, but also the love, kindness, wisdom, and faith she has shared over the years. Reaching a century is a truly extraordinary achievement, and Small’s life is a beautiful legacy of family, devotion, and joy.
