Selborne anglers reel in top honours

Selborne College anglers have been recognised for their outstanding performances in the Border Rock and Surf League, helping the school secure the trophy for the top-performing school of the season.

The talented group include Cameron Rheeder, Ryder Barclay, Nathan Randall, Luke Jacobs and Sebastian Botha, who represented their respective clubs throughout the campaign.

Their success has also earned several provincial selections.

Barclay has been chosen for the Border U21 team, while Randall and Jacobs have been selected for the Border U16 team.

The teams will compete in Eastern Province in 2027.

Adding to the achievement, Selborne staff member Bazil Frewen has been selected for the Border Senior B angling team and will compete at the national tournament in Struisbaai in 2027.

Special recognition goes to Rheeder, who was named the Top U21 Angler in the Border region after an exceptional season.

The achievements reflect the dedication, skill and sportsmanship of Selborne’s anglers, who continue to make their mark on the regional angling scene.
