Stirling Primary marked a significant milestone on Friday, May 29, as pupils, staff and guests gathered to celebrate the school’s 72nd birthday during a special Founders Day assembly.
The occasion honoured the school’s rich history and recognised the individuals whose dedication and service have helped shape Stirling Primary into one of KuGompo’s most respected schools.
This year’s celebration was dedicated to the memory of former headmaster Selwyn Hall, who led the school from 1976 to 2004 and passed away earlier this year. Hall’s leadership, vision and commitment to education left a lasting impact on generations of pupils, educators and families associated with the school.
Former staff member Craig Malherbe, who served at Stirling during Hall’s tenure, delivered a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on the former headmaster’s influence and the legacy he leaves behind.
The school was also honoured to welcome Dorrie Hall as the guest of honour. Together with current principal Rod Harris, she recognised long-serving staff members for their years of dedication and contribution to the growth and success of the school.
The celebration provided an opportunity for the school community to reflect on its proud heritage while acknowledging the values and traditions that continue to guide the institution.
As the school celebrates 72 years of educational excellence, it continues to build on the foundations laid by those who came before, ensuring their legacy lives on through current and future generations of pupils. PICTURE: SUPPLIED
