Jam-packed season of fun

THE heat is on for Buffalo City Metro (BCM) residents as the festive season is jam-packed with parties and festivals.

The annual BCM Summer Carnival taking place in the city is a family affair. It takes place in the regions – King William’s Town to cater for inland people, Mdantsane to cater for midland people and East London to cater for coastal areas.

The carnival was held in Mdantsane earlier this week and has moved to King William’s Town today and tomorrow. From December 20 to 21, the carnival will be at Court Crescent in East London, and on December 22 it will be at the Orient Theatre.

BCM spokesman Sibusiso Cindi said they were expecting more than 20000 people to support the events over six days.

He urged people of all ages to attend.

“This is a time of fun and entertainment. “While we enjoy ourselves we need to do it responsibly. We say no to alcohol abuse by underage children.”

Live entertainment will feature top local and national acts. National artists include Zahara, Lira, Professor, Heavy K, Emtee and Mobi Dixon, among many others.

There will be a Buyel’ekhaya Fashion Show tomorrow and the Buyel’ekhaya Pan African Festival on Sunday. On December 31, there will be a countdown to new year at Buffalo City Stadium
