Starting out selling CDs out of a suitcase, Mark Conradt built up what is now known as Music Mix, the first store opening at Lock Street Jail in East London in 1988.

The business grew and gained loyal customers that have served Mark and his wife, Louise, well over the years. However, the rise of digital downloading, has forced this music hub into a corner.

Slowly Mark and his wife closed down the various stores throughout the country, still holding on to the East London Store at Vincent Park.

“It is with a heavy heart that I am forced to make the sad decision to close our doors at Music Mix,” said the Music Mix owner.

The store is currently having a 30%-off sale on all stock in preparation for their closure.

“I would also like to thank all of the dedicated and hard-working staff that endured many long hours and pressures of the job, to pursue their passion for music, and, in equally helping Music Mix achieve many accolades, awards and prizes through the years,” he added.

“A big thank you also goes to our loyal supporters, especially our East London customers. Without your support Music Mix would never have achieved the status as one of the largest and greatest music retail stores in the country,” Mark said.
