SIX Selborne College pupils have been selected to take part in the South African Water Polo training squad in Port Elizabeth from December 8 to 12.

The boys are from Selborne’s under-16 and U17 water polo teams.

The U16s are Devon Copeland, Dean Stokes and Joshua Reeves, while Ridge Snelling, Troy Mynhardt and Nolan Kemp will be in the U17 team.

“I think the training camp is a great opportunity to learn from a higher calibre of coaches and players to prove myself in water polo. It’s a competitive sport, but it’s fun and a team sport and you meet many people,” Devon said.

U17 player Ridge Snelling said he is humbled by the opportunity to be chosen for such a prestigious event and that it has always been his dream to represent his country since discovering water polo as his passion .

“I would never have gotten to this level without my teammates, coaches, my family who have always supported me, and God who has blessed me,” Ridge said.
