FANTASY Indoor League hosted its first soccer challenge on Saturday on the rooftop of Hemingways Mall, with Stars crowned the champions and Kroos Kontrol the runners-up.
CEO of the league Osher Soetland said he had started off by running indoor soccer tournaments in Gauteng.
“It has always been a dream to come back and give the youth of the Eastern Cape some opportunities.”
Eight teams took part in the inaugural event with a large number of spectators turning out in support.
“We are proud to announce that we will be partnering with Supersport Soccer Schools in order to maximise exposure and nurture the young talent in the city and surrounding areas.”
The Fantasy Indoor League will be running social leagues from Monday to Friday from 6.30pm until 11pm.
“Sundays will be dedicated to touch rugby where we will be partnering with former Springbok loose forward Tim Dlulane.
“We will also be offering netball and boot camp for the women, and doing a lot of outreach programmes in underprivileged areas.”
