Founder Thabo Mkhencele said MAOM was a registered non-profit organisation aimed to encourage encourage, train and mentor men.

“It all begins at home, hence our programmes seek to empower men to be the greatest they can be as men, husbands and fathers.”

The institution is based at Gateway Farm in East London.

“We have seen how young men come back from initiation schools displaying disrespect towards women and girls and abusing alcohol and drugs.”

Others died during the process or suffered amputation.

The institution’s two-weeks programme will unpack topics such as the identity and purpose of a man, self-awareness, ethics and morals and focus on health-related issues.
