September is Deaf Awareness Month and the Carel du Toit Centre will be celebrating by raising awareness within their community.
Centre administrator of the Centre, Lara Roux said children with hearing loss are not just “little adults” when it comes to managing their hearing.
They require more intensive and qualified services, as well as specialised paediatric hearing technology that will enable them to learn and benefit from rehabilitation services.
“As a non-profit organisation, and as part of our Deaf Awareness Campaign, we would like the public and also businesses to consider becoming a ‘Friend of the Carel du Toit Centre’. By committing to making a monthly donation to the centre, you will enable us to teach hearing-impaired children to hear and speak, changing the lives of these children forever,” said Roux.
If there is anyone people willing to donate, they can contact Roux at the centre at 043-742-1420 for more information or details and or visit their our informational display which will be up at Hemingways Mall from the 6th to 8th September 6 to 8.
