In celebration of providing quality child care to the community, the All Saints Daycare Centre had a fun-filled five-year anniversary celebration on Tuesday. October 09.
The daycare, which was founded in 2013 with only five children, has grown to accommodate about 150 children from Parkside and surrounding areas.
The day was sponsored by Ishmael Finch, a donor who hails from Boston, Massachusetts, in the US. Finch , United States of America, who said he came across the daycare while doing research online.
“I do a lot of research online about early childhood education and in the US America we are really big on donating and giving back to the kids. I read online that this was one of the biggest in capacity as far as children in the area are concerned. I wanted to come down and help out a little bit,” he said.
Finch aims at opening a GoFundMe account to raise funds for the centre.
“I am also trying to get people from the USA to come here and help out and that might again inspire somebody else to help too,” he said.
Delisha Delaney of the daycare centre said the daycare prides itself on for their work of providing a safe environment for children.
“We do this by providing childcare for all families in the community that are faced with socio-economic challenges.
“Also, there is a high unemployment rate with a dependency on social grants in our community, so we help by providing e the child with a warm, loving, caring, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for preschool-aged children,” she said.
