Audiences are invited to join Stirling Primary School at the Guild Theatre from Thursday November 1 to Saturday November 3 for their production of Miranda and the Magic Sponge by Pieter Scholtz. Tickets will be R70 per person.
The cast consists is made up of pupils from grades 5, 6, and 7 who have been preparing for the show for almost nearly eight months. According to Stirling Primary head of drama Sandra Baxter-Marais, auditions began as early as April with rehearsals taking place every Saturday since May.
Miranda and the Magic Sponge follows the story of the titular Miranda who is offered a magic sponge by fellow main character Peter Polyp which transports her to a magical kingdom under the sea. There she finds that the kingdom is under threat from three sea witches who are fighting over who gets to rule. Miranda must work with her new friends to bring a happy ending to the kingdom.
Along the way, audiences can expect to laugh and sing along as they help Miranda in her quest.
Tickets are R70 and performance times will be 6.30pm with a 2pm matinee. Bookings are are open at the Guild Theatre.
