The East London branch of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) will be hosting its open day on Saturday November 17 at their headquarters, Station 07 in Parkside. The event, which occurs every two years, will be free for the public and will run from 10am to 4.30pm.
According to station commander Geoff McGregor, the day is about “showing the community what we do and to try and get more crew members to join our station”.
Boat rides will be available for attendees with tickets costing R20 per adult and R10 for under-18s. Other activities will be on offer, such as face painting, a jumping castle, and a raffle. Prizes will include a surfboard, a 950L Eco water tank, and lots more.
“All we want is for the community of eEast London to come and join us for a fun family day,” said McGregor.
