Cyclists to brave 394km for St Bernards Hospice

St Bernards Hospice will host be hosting their 10th annual Cycle Challenge from November 21 to November 23. The popular race will see 25 cyclists pedal a whopping 394km from East London to Queenstown and then back again, in order to raise funds for the hospice.

To raise money, cyclists have been asked to obtain sponsors for the race since their entry fee will only cover the cost of the challenge itself.

Cyclists will start at Floradale Nursery at 6am on November 21 and will spend the first day cycling through to the Manderson Hotel, 6km outside of Stutterheim. Upon arrival, food will be provided, and cyclists will be provided with rooms for the night.

The second day will see the cyclists travelling approximately 100km to Queenstown, where they will stay over at the Burrough Guest Lodge.

On the final day, the cyclists will return to East London, finishing back at Floradale.

Throughout the event, Alderson Ambulance will be on hand to provide medical support, while the traffic department will also be on call to direct oncoming traffic.
